Every day, our skin absorbs a whole series of substances. Precautionary measures can be taken to minimize the impacts on our health. This is why we have banned substances that seem to us to be non-essential in our formulas and harmful to health.
For example:
PARABENS
These are chemical preservatives, the health effects of which are not yet clear. For many scientists, they would be allergens and carcinogens so avoid them.
SULPHATES
It is a washing agent often used in shower gels and shampoos. It can cause certain allergies or irritations.
SILICONE
They are used to make cosmetics easier to spread, softer, shinier... They are recognized pollutants because they are stable and therefore have a very long biodegradability (400 years). They are also accused of having an occlusive effect, that is to say of suffocating the skin and the scalp.
PEGs
They are derived from petrochemicals and are made from ethylene oxide. They are not allowed in organic products.
PHENOXYETHANOL
It is a preservative that is part of the family of glycol ethers, directly derived from the distillation of petroleum with effects that result in sterility, abnormalities in the duration or regularity of menstrual cycles, difficulties in conceiving , spontaneous abortions, damage to the embryo, congenital malformations…
PHTHALATES
Chemicals recognized as endocrine disruptors that modify the action of hormones and alter reproductive function, Phthalates also increase the risk of developing diabetes.
MINERAL OILS
They are also derivatives of petrochemicals. Its synthetic compounds also have an occlusive effect and can cause irritation.
